MYSTERY OF DIVINE ELECTION

A pastor, whom I admire for his worldwide ministry, writes, “God chose us not because we are lovable, but in spite of our unlovable condition.  His love is unconditional.  His choice is a function of His sovereign will.  Why He chose us and not another is a mystery known only to God”.  Be wary when a theologian labels a doctrine “a mystery”.  That is a sign they have no explanation for the doctrine.  It is not only inexplicable, but confusing, illogical, irrational, and indefensible.  The writer is speaking of Divine Election, Predestination, Determinism, Fatalism, etc..  But the writer is not talking about just any divine election.  He is talking about arbitrary, capricious divine election.  Divine election, by itself, is not a problem to anyone.  “Election” simply means “choice”. “Divine” means “of God”.  There is no question that God makes choices.  No mystery there.  But the pastor considers that God makes arbitrary, capricious choices with regard to individuals’ eternal destiny and that is a mystery to him.

When you and I vote in an election, we make choices.  Hopefully, we study the candidates’ positions, qualifications, experience, character, etc. in advance and go to the polls and make enlightened choices.  To simply choose someone randomly would be irresponsible.  We should vote based on responsible criteria.  Should we not assume our God would do the same?

Here are some basics we should assume about God.  He makes all decisions (elections) based on His perfect nature.  He never contradicts Who He is as He has revealed it to us.  There is always a basis for His choices.  His choices will always enhance His righteousness – not evil.  We don’t believe God is the author of good and evil.  The prince of darkness roams the earth seeking whom he may devour.  He is the orchestra leader of lies, depravity, and destruction.  The doctrine of fatalism, predestination, que sera, sera presumes a god that authors good and evil, much like the Allah of the Quran.  Determinism is a core belief of Islam.  But, fatalism seeped into Christianity after almost 400 years of church history.  Augustine introduced it and it was picked up by the likes of John Calvin centuries later.  Until Augustine, the pervasive Biblical truth of “we reap what we sow” ruled.  In other words, positive actions, words, and attitudes have positive consequences and negative actions, words, and attitudes have negative consequences.  Also, the pervasive Biblical truth of “whosoever will” from verses such as John 3:16, were totally accepted in the body of Christ.  By “pervasive truth” I mean that just about every page of the Bible relates that truth.

Calvinists have a list of Biblical verses they use to support arbitrary divine election and predestination.  About half of the list isn’t talking about individuals being chosen, but is talking about the characteristics God expects to be exhibited by His children.  (i.e. be holy, be walking in the Spirit, etc.). He always has, does, and always will expect such a response from us.  As to the rest of the list, there is no reason to assume He makes such choices arbitrarily.  “Whosoever will” remains the critical factor.

Calvinists have developed a systematic theology to present their doctrine of arbitrary predestination.  It is called T.U.P.I.P.

T.- Total Depravity.  We aren’t morally capable of choosing God

U.- Unconditional Election.  God arbitrarily distributes His favor

L.- Limited Atonement.  Jesus only died for the “elect”

I.- Irresistible Grace.  The “elect” can’t resist God’s grace

P.- Perseverance of the saints.  The “elect” can never lose their salvation

The Bible clearly explains that humans have a sin nature.  That is a bent to supreme self-gratification or a “me first” heart.  But, if that renders us completely unable to respond to His call, why have the Bible?  Why have the “Gospel”?  Why would Jesus come?  Why have the Holy Spirit to pave the way for our faith?

You may wonder why I have labored for more than 50 years side by side with Calvinists.  The answer is that I’ve discovered hardly any living, practicing, ministering Calvinists.  Many folks label themselves as such, but, of the thousands of professing Christians I’ve met and worked with, I’ve only heard of one who lives and ministers as a Calvinist.  He lives in the center of Puerto Rico.  He built a chapel in the mountains and goes there every Sunday and waits for the elect to show up.  Other than him, I have no problem working with those who identify themselves as Calvinists because they are all Wesleyan Arminians when it comes to practice and ministry.

My concern is that, historically when a civilization buys into fatalism, predestination, and determinism and it actually influences their behavior, the results are disastrous.  That’s only logical.  Why strive to progress?  Why strive to improve?  Why help others?  After all, what they are going through is divinely ordained.

The pastor I quoted in the beginning wrote later in the same chapter, “All too many people in the church body have an attitude that says, ‘I’m sure glad I’m saved…Too bad about the rest of the world”.  He bemoans the inactivity of believers.  He doesn’t realize he is feeding that attitude with his que sera,sera preaching.  You can’t tell a congregation every Sunday “Whatever will be, will be” and expect them to rush out of the church and share the Gospel.  That borders on insanity.

The main image of God in the Bible is as our heavenly Father.  We pray, “Our Father Who art in heaven…”. The term implies a filial relationship between God and His children.  T.U.L.I.P obliterates that Biblical concept and diminishes the relationship of Father and child down to puppeteer and puppet.  When a relationship between two people becomes one person in total control of the other, the relationship dies.  The Biblical image of heavenly Father dies when enveloped in Calvinism’s arbitrary divine election.  As related earlier, Islam has predestination as a main doctrine.  That is why the Biblical concept of heavenly Father is blasphemy to Muslims.  The two are not compatible

This past Sunday, a psychopath entered the 1^st Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, TX and killed over 25 people and wounded 20 more.  This morning I was leading a meeting meant to promote healing and prayer for the folks of that church.  One person suggested we can gain solace from the fact that “God permitted the massacre”.  It was all I could do to keep from vomiting.  I was ill the rest of the day as I pondered the fact that God was portrayed as complicit in that act of pure evil.  I managed to overcome my nausea to explain that our world is in the midst of a spiritual war and what happened was instigated by the enemy of our souls and not in any way was it the work of our heavenly Father or condoned by Him.

So, in conclusion, I agree with the pastor that arbitrary divine election is a mystery.  It’s a mystery why any Bible believing Christian would promote it.  It violates the most fundamental doctrines of our faith.  It destroys the Biblical concept of our heavenly Father.  It has led to the collapse of every civilization that adhered to it.  It makes the Gospel odious to seekers.  Who wants to follow a god who authors evil?  Who would seriously worship a god who capriciously designs and creates people for hell?

Fortunately, the Bible reveals God as the author of good, holiness, and righteousness…Who wars against evil and the prince of darkness in our behalf.  I close with Paul’s words about faith, “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came through Jesus Christ.  God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood.  He did this to demonstrate His justice, because of His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished… He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”  Romans 3:22-26

GUESS WHO OWNS SLAVES

We live in a day when anything associated with the Confederacy is under attack.  I have ancestors who were Union soldiers and were held as prisoners of war.   So, I have little emotional attachment to the Confederacy.  But, the attacks have broadened out to include more than Confederate officers.  People are pointing fingers at George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Christopher Columbus, and Woodrow Wilson.  The thread that binds all these folks together seems to be their involvement with slavery and attitudes toward minorities.

Having studied the debates about slavery held in the 1800’s, I am amazed at some gaping holes in the finger pointing.  For example, the arguments for slavery were repeated in the 1960’s and 70’s by those supporting legalized abortion.  That’s no surprise because the woman, Margaret Sanger, who led the fight was an open eugenicist who had advocated for years for the proliferation of the “superior” races and the extermination of the “inferior” races.  Eugenics is the most radical racism on earth and it was the foundation of legalized abortion.  Civil rights leaders at the time screamed that legalized abortion was genocide.  Yet, I haven’t seen any fingers pointing at statues of Margaret Sanger or at abortion clinics.

Also, nobody has mentioned one of the most famous slave holders of all time…Muhammed.  He traded and owned slaves most of his adult life.  We’re not talking a few slaves, but many slaves and a goodly number of them were black.  The result of his slave dealings has been a marriage between Islam and slavery that has prospered until the present and will never go away.  It can’t.  It’s an intrinsic part of Islam sanctioned by Muhammed.  As Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, a member of the Senior Council of Clerics, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body, proclaimed in 2003, “Slavery is part of jihad, and jihad will remain as long as there is Islam.”

Winston Churchill, who served as a soldier and correspondent in what is now Pakistan and in the Sudan, observed that the extinction of slavery will never occur until Islam has ceased (The River War, vol. 2)

Slavery persists throughout Islamic history as a part of Muhammed’s legacy.  Lovejoy and Hogendorn write in “Slavery Marketing in West Africa”, “Tropical Africa was the principal area for procuring the Caliphates’ slaves.  Muslims dominated that continent’s slave trade, including in West Africa where Muslims sold slaves to Europeans who shipped them to the Americas.”

Black American author, Thomas Sowell reveals in “Conquests and Cultures” that of the millions of slaves shipped across the Atlantic, most were purchased from Arab raiders in West Africa.  He goes on to share, “Although the Islamic countries of the Middle East and North Africa imported more slaves from sub-Saharan Africa than did the European off shoot nations of the West, there are in those Muslim countries today no such large groups of black African descent as the 60 million currently living in the West.”  He explains, “What is known, is that there was an extremely low reproduction rate among the Africans enslaved in Muslim countries.”  Why?  Because hundreds of thousands of African males were castrated in a gruesome procedure that killed 90% of those subjected to it.

The cruel fate of many blacks in the Caliphate was connected to the inveterate racism that has always run deep in Islamic societies.  For example, Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) from Tunis, widely considered the greatest Islamic scholar of all time, wrote that, “the Negro nations are, as a rule, submissive to slavery because they are similar to dumb animals.”

Slavery still persists across the Islamic world, especially in the former French colonies of Islamic West Africa.  Mauritania officially abolished slavery in 1981, but it still exists there. In Chad, children abducted by Islamic raiders are forced to abandon their native language and Christian faith for Arabic and Islam.  In Niger, it is estimated that 8% of the population is in slavery. 

Slavery has always existed in Islamic societies and continues today.  Islam cannot outlaw slavery because the Quran allows the faithful to enslave their enemies. (Quran 33:50) Moreover, the Quran condones sex slavery by granting men sexual access to “what their right hands possess” (female captives) and to “the slave girls who Allah has given you as booty” (Quran 23:5-6, 33:50, 70:29-30).

Islamic apologists will claim that their slaves are treated better than slaves were in the West.  That’s because 2/3 of Islamic slaves were/are females, many of whom are sex slaves who were/are cared for by castrated males (eunuchs).  So, the apologists are correct in you believe rape and castration are more humane than forced labor.  They also claim Allah will reward those who free their slaves. (Quran 2:177, 24:33).  Here is how that works:  When the sex slave is too old to satisfy her owner, she is released to fend for herself in the streets.  So, the owner is twice blessed.  He gets rid of a worn out dependent and gets praise from Allah also.  You can’t beat that deal.

Conclusion:  If BLM and Antifa and their allies are going to attack the Confederacy and fascists for being racists, they need to target abortion clinics and the marriage of Islam and slavery in order to be consistent.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SCHOOL

The purpose of this blog is to promote the free expression of faith.  Therefore, I want to encourage those considering where to attend school after high school graduation to think seriously about the school chosen.  If you are a parent of a high school graduate and are searching for the right institution for them, please do so very carefully.  The decision is more important than ever.

I encourage you to do a diligent search for what kind of education each possible school offers.  Most schools fall into two categories:  those that educate and those that indoctrinate.  Those that educate are worth every penny spent.  Those that indoctrinate are not worth a dime.  The indoctrinated student will be no more enabled to be a constructive participant in our culture than if they had sat the whole time in McDonald's.

Here are a few things to look for:  

Which is given more value, free speech or political correctness?

Which is given the priority, reality or perception?

Are students given the right to hold various opinions without persecution or penalty?

Are students prepared for what the world holds for them after graduation?

Are students taught what to think OR how to think?

Will they graduate with skills that are marketable or just an attitude of entitlement?

Will matters of faith be encouraged or demeaned?

I was very fortunate.  I attended a state university during the "Free Speech Movement".  I was exposed to faculty, guest speakers, literature, and events from every possible direction.  Free expression of ideas and opinions was encouraged.  If you wished to express an opinion different than the professor, it was encouraged because most of the faculty prided themselves in exercising free speech.

The result was that I was able to develop the ability to defend my beliefs and ideals, to be open to opposing positions, to appreciate reality, to have the skills to support my well being, to know how to find solutions to life's challenges, and to mature in my faith.

So, how do you know if a school is going to educate or indoctrinate?  Here are some suggestions.

Check out who is running the school.  Do they have a certain political or social bent?

Check out what student groups have the most influence.

Check out where the money goes.  Are fads and fringe classes given preference?

Talk to current students about their experience.

Find out if the school is interested in what parents of students think.

Check out the various housing scenes and you will gain great insight to make a good decision.  

Check out what accomplishments are honored on campus.

I hope this helps you with this important decision.

KILLING TRUMP 2

In my blog entitled "Killing Trump" I explained that there was an organized army bent on assassinating the Trump presidency.  We now know more information about that army.  Paul Sperry of the New York Post has identified the group spearheading the plot.  It is the ORGANIZATION FOR ACTION headed up by the former President.  Barack Obama has established the headquarters in Washington D.C.  He has a compound from which he operates and directs their assault.  Actually, the person pulling the strings is Valerie Jared as was the case when he was President.  She has established her office there.  According to records obtained by Mr. Sperry, the army consists of over 30,000 volunteers that can be called on to oppose any move made by the Trump administration.  We all have seen them in action since November 2016.  They consist of judges willing to halt any action taken to strengthen our security or protect our lives.  The main line media is directed daily what to say and what vocabulary to use.  They receive their script in in the morning and all day long every soldier parrots the same mantra over and over.  It's so scripted and mechanical that I've seen comedy routines consisting of the same "reporters" saying the exact words over and over hundreds of times.  They send out their spokespeople to all the media outlets to spout their propaganda to stab Trump at every opportunity.  

But, this week, one of the army supporters jumped the gun (sorry for the pun).  He tried and almost succeeded in taking out a whole section of Trump supporters and members of the Freedom Caucus in Alexandria VA.  It was not the act of a crazy madman.  He had everything planned out in detail.  He had a list of who to kill and knew their importance to the President.  Only the presence of two Capital police prevented his success.  He provides a perfect action picture of what the OFA is doing every day.  According to the Sperry report the OFA has over $40 million dollars to work with.  I explained in the previous article that their strategy is death by 1000 cuts.  Have you ever wondered how so many demonstrators can show up at several places at one time to oppose the President.  It's not an accident. Or, does it not interest you how coordinated the judicial opposition to Trump policies has become or the leaks that keep arising every time something goes right for Trump.  Everyone in Washington keeps complaining about leaks, but nobody seems to know who is doing it.  Just call Valerie.  She has them on speed dial.

The play Julius Caesar that shows the President being assassinated by several of his own people is another accurate picture of what the OFA is doing.  Go back and read in "Killing Trump" what Evelyn Farkes said before the election about how the opposition would take down Donald Trump if he were to win.  She worked for Obama and everything she said would happen is coming true.  We no longer can just worry about our foreign enemies like Iran, North Korea, Isis, etc.. We have to worry about the enemy within.

INTRODUCTION

As I have been watching the news and listening to people describe their hurtful interactions with others, I have asked over and over, "Where is the fear of God? Where is the dread that there are consequences to our actions, words, and attitudes?  I was led to research the topic.  Here are the results:

WHERE IS THE FEAR OF GOD?

When Moses was explaining the 10 Commandments to the Israelites, he said, “Fear the Lord your God and serve Him only.”  (Deut. 6:13) and, “What does the Lord ask of you but to fear the Lord your God.” (Deut. 10:12)  

As Joshua spoke to the Israelites, he said, “Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness.” (Joshua 24:14)  

 King David wrote, “The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.”  (Psalm 19:9)   and “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”  (Psalm 111:10)   

King Solomon said, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”  (Proverbs 1:7)   and “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life.” (Proverbs 14:27)   

The prophet Isaiah said when speaking of wisdom, knowledge, and salvation “The fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”  (Isaiah 33:6)  

The apostle Paul said, after explaining the Judgment Seat of Christ, “Since we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men.”  (2 Cor. 5:11)  

The writer of Hebrews, after explaining the foolishness of rejecting God’s mercy, said, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  (Hebrews 10:31)  

The angel of God spoke to the whole earth and said, “Fear God and give Him glory.”  (Rev. 14:7)

This is just a sample of Scriptures that call us to fear God.  From the beginning to the end of the Bible, we are called to fear God.  It is clear that the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge, wisdom, and salvation.  It is essential for any of God’s people.  So why do we hear so little about it?

First, we ignore the holiness of God and His call for us to be holy.  (1 Peter 1:15,16)  The Bible has numerous examples of those who entered the presence of the holy divinity and were instantly flat on the ground due to their unholiness.  Our unholiness can’t stand up to the holiness of God.

Second, we forget we are accountable for our actions, words, and attitudes.  We foolishly think God is not aware or He doesn’t care about our lives.  There will be a day of accounting!  Our only hope is to confess, repent, and believe in the grace earned by Jesus on the cross.  Outside of that provision, we are doomed.

Third, we live as though God’s admonitions and prohibitions are not applicable today.  We applaud, idolize, and praise those who mock God and His ways.

Finally, and most importantly, we have forgotten the pervasive Biblical truth the we reap what we sow.  Positive actions, words, and attitudes have natural positive consequences.  Conversely, negative actions, words, and attitudes have natural negative consequences.

Considering that the Bible teaches throughout that the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge, wisdom, and salvation, perhaps we should renew our attention to the pervasive teaching of the fear of God and act on it.   

KILLING TRUMP

In the early days of the Christian church, the Apostle Paul planted churches in a variety of locations around the Roman empire.  Many of the churches included Gentiles, as well as Jews.  On one occasion, he returned to Jerusalem to report on his work.  He told a crowd of Jews of his work among the Gentiles.  Some Jewish zealots were furious.  Here is their response:  “The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.  More than forty men were involved in this plot” (Acts 23:12-13).  The plot was not successful because Paul’s nephew overheard the plan and told Paul.

Today, we see a similar plot to assassinate our President.  The left has recruited an army of political assassins to kill, in whatever way possible, the incoming President.  Their strategy currently seems to be “Death by a 1000 cuts”.  These assassins investigate every step taken and every word spoken and twist it to the negative to destroy the presidency. The plot was born before the election in November of 2016.  In October, Obama representative, Ms. Farkas, was addressing European leaders about the upcoming election and the deplorable candidate, Donald Trump.  She reassured them that, even if Trump were elected, they need not worry because “He would soon be impeached or removed from office”.  She was aware of the plans to kill the Trump presidency in October before the election.  What is significant is that there are not many options, other than impeachment, to remove a President from office.  Daily, we see more details of the plot as revelations come to light.  The army is made up of Obama operatives, the mainline media, left leaning donors, anarchists, and discouraged Democrats.

Take the media as an example.  Due to my e-mail address, I go through the msn.com news homepage at least twice a day.  I have read the page daily for years.  Very few people read msn.com news more than me.  So, I can say with confidence that they are part of the assassination plot.  The reporting has one goal…kill the President. Their political reporting is totally bias.  They have become nothing more than a propaganda rag for the DNC.  There is no attempt to hide it or balance their reporting.

Why does the left hate the President so much?  Since the election, their rhetoric has become more insane, hysterical, irrational, and bizarre.  Just look at what the new DNC chairman spewed recently.  He was out of his mind and he is their new leader!  Why are they so upset?  Here are the reasons: First, the new President is an American patriot.  The left is composed of globalists.  Patriots are their worst enemies.  Patriots are heretics to them.  Second, the new President is a capitalist.  They are diehard socialists.  To them, capitalism is the cause of the evil in the world.  The U.S. has been trending toward socialism for years.  Now, the trend has turned around and they are furious. It makes no difference to them that real socialism has been tried for centuries and has always been a disaster because it is based on false presuppositions about human nature. Thirdly, the new President believes in American exceptionalism.  The left is a product of an educational system steeped in “Revisionist  History” where the emphasis is on how evil we are and have been since our beginning.  Fourth, the new President accepted support from pro-life folks.  The left worships at the feet of eugenicist and Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger.  Finally, the President has not completely caved in to Postmodern philosophy where perception trumps reality.  He is a realist. The left is addicted to Postmodern philosophy which denies that Truth and Reality exist resulting in out of control political correctness.

So, the left has become the John Wilkes Booth of our time.  When we watch or read the news, we are amazed that Truth does not seem important.  When hatred reaches such high levels, Truth is not important.  It is sacrificed for goals.  Literally, the ends justify the means.  The whole “Russian Influence” topic is an example.  The assassins are trying to show that the new President cooperated with the Russians to win the election so they can make a case for impeachment.  Look at all the investigations by various agencies into the “plot”.  Lost in all of this fury is the truth that American Intelligence Agencies have, are, and will try to influence foreign elections all the time.  This was clearly presented at the Senate hearing chaired by Senator McCain where several directors of various intelligence agencies were questioned for hours.  Senator Thom Tillis  of North Carolina pointed out the report by Prof. Dov Levin of Carnegie Mellon University which showed that our agencies had interfered in foreign elections 81 times from 1946 to 2000.  We have spent hundreds of millions of dollars and tons of energy to sway elections in other countries covertly and overtly.  President Obama openly tried to influence the election in England recently.  He spent millions to defeat an Israeli candidate recently.  He tried desperately to influence elections in Africa.  In the hearing, the discussion between Director Clapper and Senator Tillis resulted in the most oft repeated phrase to come out of the hearing, “Don’t throw rocks in glass houses”.  What they were referring to was that we can’t over react to Russian action when we do the same thing all the time.  In fact, Levin’s report makes it clear that we do it more than twice as often as the Russians.  What happened to this discussion?  It was ignored completely by everyone.  Everyone on the panel knew it was true and it destroyed the “Russian Influence” argument.  But, it was shoved under the rug.  Why?  It didn’t fit the assassins’ agenda.  Almost no news agency or Senator picked up on the fact since the hearing.  One late night interview with a former CIA agent did mention the fact. He was asked if we engage in interference in elections in other countries and he responded “Of course we do” and no more was made of it.  One former Vice President called Russia’s actions “an act of war”.  How absurd!  His own administration was famous for interfering in foreign elections.  The bottom line is that we will spend millions of tax dollars to discover the obvious.  The Russians and the USA and many other nations interfere in elections all the time.  Maybe we are just jealous that the Russian tactics have become more sophisticated than ours.

Some veteran observers of American history are saying we are on the brink of a civil war.  It may come to that if we continue down the road to assassination.  Paul was delivered from the plot against him by a Roman commander who was told of the plot and knew Paul was a Roman citizen.  He knew he was responsible for Paul’s safety.  He formed a wall of protection around Paul and delivered him to a secure location.  The patriots in America need to do the same for our duly elected presidency.

 

I wrote the following in response to those who wished to know more about the Spirit Filled Life.  It was first published in 1977 by Wesley Press and then was updated in 1999.  My hope is that it will help folks understand the Biblical admonition to "be filled with the Spirit".  I was also asked about the results or manifestations of the filling of the Spirit.  I did a thorough investigation of all the incidents where the Holy Spirit filled, baptized, anointed, came upon, etc. a person or group and recorded the subsequent results in their lives.  The results were varied, but one stood out 100% of the time.  Each time the result was BOLDNESS.  There were other results, but boldness was what showed up in each case.

Why Opinion Polls Have Let Us Down

 

 

 

We've just inaugurated Donald Trump as President.   Much of the media is reporting on the first day of his presidency, that his "Approval rating" is just over 40% and about 55% disapprove of him.  One has to wonder if something is wrong with the polls.  How could he have won such a decisive victory in the Electoral College if just over 40% approved of him?

 

Some would argue that he didn't win the popular vote.  He didn't campaign to win the popular vote!  Any capable observer would seen that his strategy was to win the Electoral College...and he did with a significant advantage.  If he wanted to win the popular vote, he could have used a much different strategy and would have probably won significantly as well.  But, in our system, the Electoral College is how we determine the winner.

 

So, how could the polls be so skewed.  The answer is that the media's polls are "Cool Polls".  Democrats decided to defeat Trump by making it "Uncool" to vote for him.  Hillary labeled Trump supporters "Deplorables".  She painted his supporters as the scum of the earth.  Her campaign flooded the media with propaganda that Trump was a "Racist, Womanhater, Bigot, Homophobe, etc."  The Democrats have used the same negative labels against their opponents for as long as I can remember.  If Mother Teresa was running against them, they would label her with the same terms.  They recruited show biz stars to parrot their labels.  Anyone who didn't fall in line against Trump was crushed, threatened, and denigrated mercilessly.  It quickly became "Uncool" or "Deplorable" to support Trump.  After all, cool people hate Trump-or so they would have us think.

 

Some of the "Deplorables" relished the label and wore it as a badge of honor.  But, many just kept their support of Trump private, voted for Trump, and went home hoping nobody would know.  They didn't attend his events, wear his red hat, put up his yard signs, or put his bumper sticker on their cars.  They just concluded that he was superior to Hillary.  They didn't respond to pollsters.  Nobody knew how many people supported Trump until the election because so many kept it to themselves to avoid being labeled.  Even after the victory and after the inauguration, the silence continues.  They just smile and remember January 20, 2017 and say, "That was cool".
